I’ve had a rather eclectic writing career. I’ve written half hour comedy shows, hard action films, co-scripted the pilot for the KUNG FU televisision series, and for seven years was the head writer for THE CAPTAIN KANGAROO TV show. I have always felt equally at home writing mystery, action, adventure, comedy, or children’s stories. I only write what I like. In effect, I tell myself stories and if I like them, I write them. I love creating interesting characters and thrusting them into interesting situations. THE UGLY PUMPKIN is my first book.
The Ugly Pumpkin
When all the pumpkins in the patch mock Pumpy for looking different, he starts to believe he’ll never belong. But when Halloween is in danger, it’s the “ugly” pumpkin who saves the day. A tender, funny, and inspiring tale about courage, kindness, and true character.
Puppy, the UGLY PUMPKIN, is judged (misjudged ) for his very different looks. He is laughed at and derided by all the other pumpkins in the patch. But when he miraculously saves Halloween from being canceled, the other pumpkins learn that his character is more important than his looks.
